About Tonefold
Tonefold (formerly FLVSTX) is a free, GPL-3.0 desktop app for macOS and Windows that composes music from natural-language descriptions. It writes chords, melody, bass and drums as plain notes on separate layers and sections in a piano roll, plays them instantly through a built-in General MIDI synth, and lets you edit any note. A Producer mode proposes a plan that you approve before four specialist agents write their own layers. The chat composer runs on your own Claude login via Claude Code or a local Ollama model, while generation, editing and export work offline.
