Squint is a desktop app that explains whatever is on your screen. It waits in the tray until you press a hotkey (Win+Shift+Q by default); you drag a box around anything confusing and an answer streams in beside it, with no app switching, uploads or typed description. You can ask follow-up questions, hold Shift to select up to four regions, and choose between a Fast and a Best model per capture. Responses support Markdown, math and code blocks, and closed chats are stored locally and searchable. The selected region is sent to OpenAI's API for the answer. Squint is available for Windows and Linux, with macOS coming soon.
