Cakeword is a mobile language-learning app where kids point their camera at any everyday object, tap, and watch it get cut into a collectible sticker labeled and spoken aloud in the language they are learning and their own. Object recognition runs on Apple's Vision framework, naming and translation use the on-device Apple Intelligence model, and speech uses the system synthesizer, so everything happens locally with no account and no photos uploaded. A gamified Word Dex spans 102 everyday objects across themed sets like Food, Animals, Toys, and Vehicles, with streaks, badges, collector levels, a catch-of-the-day, and rare shiny catches. Learners can study in nine languages, pairing a target language with their native one to reinforce new vocabulary through play.
